HISTORY OF PERRIÈRE

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BUILDINGS OF THE 17TH CENTURY

CHÂTEAU DE LA PERRIÈRE

Château de la Perrière is one of the largest buildings built in Maine-et-Loire during the 17th century. The residence as we know it was completed by François II Goddes de Varennes in 1699, who enlarged the original building. The last occupant of the place was the Count of Saint Pol, who lived in the place until 1989. He began the restoration of the Château in 1982, to which was added the creation of an 18-hole golf course in 1988. This castle was classified as a Historical Monument in 1983. Placed under the aegis of architects of Historic Monuments, the restoration of the sites will have lasted 26 years.
